Assistance with TileED

#1

Hey folks, new to these forums as a member but I’ve been lurking as a guest for sometime.

I had a question on how to use TileEd.

After I create a TileED map, added my prefabs and created a little level I saved the scene. From there I went to another scene, and upon coming back to my TileED scene the TileED map is no longer there.

The map still appears when I run the game and I can see it still from my camera. However in the actual editor I can’t see anything. Furthermore I can’t seem to edit anymore as the grid will not return.

Am I using this incorrectly?

Here are some pictures to help show my dilemma. I have no idea what I’m doing right or wrong.

In the TileED editor that doesn’t seem to be working for me :frowning:

Did you select the TIleEd Map and press F to centre on it?

Are you looking at correct location, where you painted tiles, in scene view?

Expand the TileEd map object and see what is in there, Select one of the tile objects and press F to centre on that object.

Pressing F will only work when the scene view is focused so you need to middle or right click in the scene view after making your selection in the hierarchy and then press F. Do not left click in the scene view since that will change what is selected in the hierarchy.

You should be able to upload images to the forum.
